A sensitive intervention: a large villa from 1715

We had the privilege of working with a unique historic structure—a building dating back to 1715, set in a breathtaking location overlooking the sea and surrounding mountains. Our first impression of the site was profoundly moving: the boundless expanse of the Adriatic Sea, majestic mountain ranges, the whisper of the wind, and birdsong.

Our primary objective was to preserve the building's authenticity, creating an interior that feels entirely natural—as though it had always existed in this exact form. To achieve this, we selected an understated, nature-inspired color palette. We left the architectural layout largely untouched, making only minor adjustments to the furniture arrangement and integrating new functional zones. A wine room and a massage area were introduced on the ground floor, while the second and third floors remain dedicated private quarters.

Designing the kitchen proved to be one of the most challenging yet rewarding tasks. Upon our initial visit, we were immediately captivated by the niche of an old masonry stove. Eager to highlight this historic feature, we integrated a section of the kitchen directly inside it, transforming it into a distinctive corner to enjoy a glass of wine.
