Dialogue of Epochs (Russia)

Project
Dialogue of Epochs

Best Implemented Apartment / Private House Interior Design Project

About the project (provided by the applicant)
The interior of this suburban house near St. Petersburg unfolds as a subtle dialogue with the past, where the present is infused with the spirit of Russian summer residences from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.

The client, a fourth-generation resident of Peterhof, wanted to combine the best design techniques of historical Silver Age dachas with the advantages offered by modern technologies. The house merges structural solutions typical of glued timber buildings with almost forgotten features of Russian noble estates’ architecture. A striking example is the bosquet room, transformed into a music lounge.

The combination of the present with the timeless runs throughout the house as a unifying thread. Classical cabinet furniture was made by St. Petersburg manufacturers and organically complemented with restored antique decorative items. The interior also includes delicately added handmade elements based on original historical models, creating the house’s unique atmosphere.
