Project
Children leisure and education center at the ex Russky Dizel plant
Nomination
Best Architectural Project by a Student
About the project
The project covers several topical issues, including revitalization of St. Petersburg’s industrial premises and establishment of a modern and multifunctional center for youth, nodding to former pioneer centers. Red brick historical structures throughout the site determined the tone of all the project. The center is divided into three blocks connected with a suspended gallery. Evacuation tower staircases along the gallery’s perimeter repeat the image of the traditional water tower and local engineering utilities.
