The interior design project for the I. A. Efremov Library is a tribute to the visionary science fiction writer, whose ideas of a harmonious future form the foundation of the concept. The space is reimagined as a multifunctional cultural hub where science meets art.
The design code builds on a striking contrast between deep red and white: red symbolizes the energy of cognition and cosmic passion, while white represents purity of thought. Smooth, bionic lines of shelving units and archways evoke planetary orbits, creating a futuristic atmosphere, while multi-level lighting accentuates the architectural volumes.
The layout is based on an "open flow" principle with clear zoning encompassing a coworking space, quiet reading rooms, and a children's area. Transformable furniture and an integrated amphitheater enable the hosting of lectures and exhibitions, while a strong focus on inclusivity and ergonomics ensures universal comfort. Ultimately, the project rises to the challenges of our time, transforming the library into a vibrant "third place" that inspires intellectual growth and creativity.
