The project's vision is to establish a new cultural anchor point on the urban map, reinforcing Yaroslavl's identity as a city defined by its valuable industrial heritage.
The reconstruction project of the Yaroslavl Electric Locomotive Repair Plant stems from the imperative to rethink and repurpose 20th-century industrial territories.
Phase 1: Evaluates the historical, architectural, and urban planning significance of the plant, its role in Yaroslavl's development, the distinct features of its Art Nouveau structures, and the current condition of the site.
Phase 2: Analyzes key site challenges: physical deterioration, the loss of architectural expression, and the imperative to comply with industrial safety regulations.
Phase 3: Focuses on developing comprehensive architectural, restoration, urban planning, and landscape design solutions.
The project culminates in a comprehensive renovation concept for the industrial complex, designed to seamlessly reconnect the plant with the urban fabric, preserve its industrial legacy, and elevate the overall quality of the urban environment.
