About the project
The central element of the park that is to commemorate the heroic aviators is the memorial to the legendary aviatress, the Hero of the Soviet Union Marina Raskova. A dry fountain is installed right behind the it, and another memorial with eternal fire and the Order of Victory has been set up there, too. Its slabs remind about the famous pilots and the 22 Guards Heavy Aviation Donbass Red Banner Division, which was camped not far from the Flight Town during the war.
Further, the failing buildings here will be replaced with a sports and leisure park, extended with children playgrounds, hardscape elements, and walking terraces, plus a skate park, a workout zone, and some bicycle paths.
