About the project (provided by the applicant)

The Factory Kitchen Museum that houses Samara’s affiliate of the Tretyakov Gallery is a masterpiece of Constructivism designed by one of the first Russian female architects. The exhibition tells the story of the building and architect Ekaterina Maximova, as well as about what happened to the Factory Kitchen after its opening and people who are somehow related to it. The visitors have to walk from the kitchen to the dining room where they discover the items found during restoration works and also the ones handed over by Ekaterina Maximova’s family. This is also the story of Soviet public catering and the Soviet cuisine in general.
