Falmed Centro Medico is the redevelopment of an abandoned building in Pescara, Italy, and its integration into an existing medical complex specializing in dentistry and plastic surgery.
The aim of the project was to give the existing building a new function and connect it with a contemporary medical environment. The new structure does not duplicate the work of the clinic but extends its possibilities: the upper floor is dedicated to professional training for doctors and conferences, while the lower floor contains a large multifunctional waiting area that can also be used for receptions and events.
The original structure became the basis of the redevelopment. The existing volume was reinterpreted according to the new program, the needs of shared public spaces, and its connection with the adjacent medical facility. As a result, an abandoned building was transformed into an active part of the medical complex.
The architectural identity is based on a clear contrast with the surrounding
