Private residence FLYING HOUSE

This urban house for a young family is a synergy of ultra-contemporary minimalism, engineering thinking, and a careful attitude towards the landscape.

The first level contains the entrance area with an engineering block and a wardrobe. The space beneath the cantilever is used as a covered terrace with a lounge area and protected parking.

The second level is the living area: a massive white cantilevered volume that seems to “float” above the ground on elegant dark supports, creating an impression of weightlessness, like a “flying house.”

A unique engineering solution is the sloped roof of the first level, fully covered with light-coloured stone in gabion mesh. It acts as a continuation of the landscape and provides natural thermal insulation.

The window openings are recessed into massive dark frames projecting from the façade, giving the building a volumetric, sculptural appearance. Decorative sun-shading screens provide privacy and filter the sunlight.

The building is perfectly integrated into the height difference of the site. Further down the slope, there is a recreation area with a swimming pool, lawn, thuja trees, and paved paths.
