Category: Best Project of Private Residence
Located on a 20m×50m single-side road site in the Middle Eastern desert, this 2–3-storey building follows FAR 1–2, with residential and service rooms.
Inspired by UAE desert light and the Medicine Buddha’s glazed pagoda, the design adopts vertical public-private zoning and a central staircase. It innovatively reinterprets traditional Arabian arch forms, utilizing mirror and blue acrylic materials to create immersive virtual-real light and shadow effects. Practicing spiritual critical regionalism and following WELL AP standards, the project realizes innovative cross-cultural translation and establishes a universal residential benchmark for the UAE.

About the Applicant
The applicant is currently an independent architect and researcher. His research and professional practice focus on spiritual critical regionalism and high-density urban regeneration.He holds a Doctor of Architecture from Tsinghua University in Beijing . His professional credentials include China Class 1 Registered Architect, Taiwan Registered Architect, SCR, LEED AP and WELL AP. He has won 20＋ domestic and international design awards, including a MUSE Platinum Award.
