About the project (provided by the applicant) The public center “Flying North” is located on the shore of the Okhtinskoye Reservoir. The building is positioned equidistant from all residential complexes in the neighborhood. Together with a school plot and three cultural heritage sites, the center forms the heart of the district, with a boulevard and embankment providing pedestrian access both from within the neighborhood and from outside.
The building is designed in a minimalist style using white architectural concrete. This material was chosen to stylistically distinguish the public center from the predominant brick residential buildings in the area. The building is pseudo-symmetrical and consists of two cubic volumes connected by an overhang placed atop them.
Location Okhtinskoye Reservoir, Krasnogvardeysky District, Saint Petersburg, Russia
