Project
«Four Seasons» Historic Mansion Interior in St. Petersburg
Category
Best Implemented Interior Design Project for Apartment / Private House
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The interior of a historic mansion (480 sq.m.) with three levels of terraces and gardens (totaling 420 sq.m.) blends modernity with historicism, high-tech with Renaissance. The design follows the principle of total art, where every element is custom-made by St. Petersburg artisans.
Axial compositions guide the layout: a single axis connects the living room and the kitchen-dining area. The master bedroom on the first floor is hidden behind a loft-style glass partition. On the second floor, an alfresco painting combines acrylic and pastel techniques, inspired by an Italian Quattrocento cartouche. At the heart of the double-height living room is a marble fireplace, framed by a mirror and a custom quadriptych bas-relief, «Four seasons.» Supported by travertine-toned columns with Corinthian plaster capitals, the ceiling features a unique plaster composition. The panoramic window offers views of a private garden, and sliding doors lead to the kitchen. The mascarons on the kitchen island pay homage to the angels on the spire of the Peter and Paul Cathedral.
