Frontier is a business-class residential complex that establishes a new benchmark for contemporary residential architecture in Smolensk. Situated in the city's historic center, the project references Smolensk’s historic identity as a strategic frontier and a place of cultural convergence. This concept receives a modern reinterpretation: Frontier acts as an architectural boundary marking a transition toward a higher quality of urban living.
The architectural character balances structural permanence with open, welcoming spaces. Brick masonry evokes a sense of tactile materiality and strength, while pitched rooflines provide a distinctive skyline silhouette and an atmosphere of shelter. Rather than directly copying historical elements, the design reinterprets traditional motifs through modern architecture, creating a cohesive residential identity that respects the historic core while setting a forward-looking direction for its ongoing evolution.
