About the project (provided by the applicant)
Hideout Zen is a unique villa in rural Bali, Indonesia, renowned for its architecture that seamlessly blends with nature, inspired by Zen principles of balance, tranquility, and harmony. The villa is constructed primarily from bamboo and reclaimed wood, promoting an eco-friendly and natural aesthetic. Bamboo offers a strong, lightweight structure, enabling open designs and natural ventilation, while reclaimed wood adds a rustic, serene touch, emphasizing sustainability.
The open layout connects indoor and outdoor spaces, maximizing views of rivers and forests, enhancing airflow, and immersing guests in the natural sounds. Influenced by Zen philosophy, the minimalist design features simple furnishings and prioritizes harmony with the environment. Water elements and access to a small river represent calmness, while large windows allow natural light to create a tranquil ambiance. Basic triangular bamboo roofs contribute to the simplicity, completing the villa's peaceful, harmonious design
