Demetra Boutique Hotel is an example of the careful adaptation of a historic building to the modern functions of a hotel space while preserving its architectural identity and cultural value.
The project has been realised in the historic centre of St. Petersburg and demonstrates an approach in which an object of cultural heritage receives a new life without losing its own character and connection with the urban environment. The basis of the concept was a respectful attitude to the historic architecture of the building, its scale, the plasticity of the façades and the spirit of the place.
In the process of adapting the object to contemporary use, the key architectural features and historic atmosphere were preserved, while the space was delicately integrated into the current standards of hotel service and comfort. Modern engineering solutions, functional zoning and new scenarios of use have been introduced in such a way as to emphasise the value of the historic environment rather than compete with it.
