Individual Residential House

The project draws inspiration from the traditions of Russian wooden architecture and elements of Karelian cultural heritage, rooted in the distinctive phenomenon of traditional Russian log building. It proposes the concept of a homestead estate that combines residential autonomy with openness to the surrounding environment, embodying the idea of harmonious interaction with the natural landscape.

The modular formation of volumes and spaces inherits the traditional structural capabilities of timber construction, while pitched roofs emphasize continuity with historic Karelian architecture. The flexible site layout respects the nuances of the picturesque Karelian landscape, continuing the tradition of creating organic architectural ensembles with natural building placement. Clear zoning ensures the autonomy of living and utility blocks while maintaining functional connectivity. To achieve high energy efficiency and cost savings, the building is heated using a geothermal heat pump combined with a gas boiler.
