Organ Concert Hall Interior “House of Music” (Russia)

Project
Organ Concert Hall Interior “House of Music”

Category
Best Implemented Interior Design Project for Public Space

About the project (provided by the applicant)
In the historic center of Smolensk, over the past four years, a new cultural facility “House of Music” with a 250-seat organ hall has been constructed. Experience gained from designing and implementing concert halls at the Mariinsky Theatre made it possible to realize the new organ hall according to all modern acoustic requirements. The hall follows the overall architectural idea and is executed in the classical tradition. Wall paintings were created based on original sketches inspired by Dutch painters of the 17th century, executed by a team of young artists under the guidance of Anton Svoboda, including Alexandra Nazarova, Marina Zazykina, and Anton Cherepanov. The interior features plaster columns, molded elements, and parquet made of natural wood. The organ was custom-made by a German company and installed and tuned by their representatives.
