About the project
Pristine nature of the north attracts many tourists but living and working here can be a challenge for the locals. The community house can become the technological and public center of the region and support circular economy. In this multifunctional building, locals can meet, trade, exchange and process materials and resources. Here water and waste recycling facilities are designed, and state-of-the-art electric power and heat saving technologies are applied.
The hearth in the main building uses biogas from waste fermentation. Foods from the greenhouse can be sold, and recyclables delivered by Icelanders to the Community House is subject to further export.
