Project
Stillness. Russian Classical Sculpture from Shubin to Matveyev — art exhibition in Manege: architectural concept
Category
Best Implemented Project of Temporary or Permanent Museum Exposition
About the project
Visitors of the exhibition will walk around the exhibition in a circular manner. The blazing light installation in the ante-room makes it look as a lobby.
The central enfilade refers to historical scenes of the world and comprises three sound-proof areas with sculptures resting on an inclined plane, a static circle and the amphitheater, making the viewer a kinetic part of the exposition.
One of the side galleries is designed with protruding console shelves, and the other has display niches.
The 1st floor represents the theatric backstage. It comprises two theaters, and finding themselves on the stage, visitors unknowingly become participants of the play.
