The project entails the renovation of the historic architectural ensemble of the Main Imperial Stables (Konyushennoe Vedomstvo) in Saint Petersburg. The concept proposes a sensitive reinterpretation of the Grand Imperial Stables space to establish a multifunctional art cluster.
The cluster accommodates an exhibition gallery, a book alley, a coworking space, and a traditional Russian cuisine restaurant. A key component of the cluster comprises creative art studios aimed at promoting folk art and traditional crafts, including studios for painting, embroidery, weaving, and graphic arts.
The central feature of the renewed complex is the courtyard space — a birch grove functioning as a symbolic island of Russian nature in the heart of the metropolis. Part of the birch grove houses an entertainment zone featuring attractions for both children and adults.
The interior design solutions throughout the entire complex draw inspiration from traditional Russian imagery, motifs, and fairytale characters.
