About the project (provided by the applicant)
The museum designed in the site of the ex Tractor Factory in Volgograd aims to reflect one of the critical moments in the Russian history. The factory was built as part of the first Soviet five-year plan, and that’s why the new project features both industrial architecture and Constructivism style. The compositional centerpiece is a multi-level area with lecture rooms and movie theaters, a lobby with cloakrooms, ticket offices, and a cafe, and galleries that connect the rooms. The main exposition is designed in several rooms with an impressive ledge supported with reinforced concrete trusses.
