About the project (provided by the applicant)
Izbushka houses are quickly assembled, cost-effective homes designed for year-round living in rural areas with minimal or nonexistent infrastructure.
These mobile mini-houses connect deeply with cultural heritage and history, reflecting this relationship not only through their rustic exterior but also in their name. An Izbushka carries on the authentic tradition of Russian wayfaring, asceticism, and storytelling, becoming a modern-day waypoint for exploration and reflection. Built to endure time and trials, these homes preserve traces of the experiences they undergo. Their pastoral exterior features unedged, sanded wooden boards and a wooden roof that, with time, gains a noble, silvery patina. Complementing the natural materials is a full-length panoramic window and a terrace sheltered by an awning.
