About the project
The exhibition covers almost 60 years of Ilya Kabakov, a Russian artist, founder of the total installation genre, who since 1980 has been working with his wife Emilia.

Established in collaboration with Tate Modern (UK) and the State Hermitage (Russia), the project has been exhibited in London, St. Petersburg and Moscow, being the first large-scale retrospective of Kabakovs’ art in Russia and abroad.

The exhibition in the Tretyakov Gallery is to a major extent a collaboration by Emilia Kabakov as the exhibitioner and the architects who managed to arrange a total installation at the area of 2,000 m2.
