Kaiserstrasse

About the project
Kaiserstrasse is located on one of the most prestigious avenues in Blumenau, Alameda Rio Branco, formerly known as ''Kaiserstrasse'' (Emperor's Street, in German)
The avenue gave rise to the main historic buildings in the city, its surroundings are responsible for the greatest density in the city.
Looking back at the avenue's features, such as the famous colonial houses with their front garden. As these material memories gradually disappear, giving way to new constructions, why not extend this typology vertically? How will society evolve as urban spaces radically change and become denser? How can culture and memories still be updated? is it possible to have a country house in an urban area? Is it possible to build a set of suspended houses?
This project seeks to have a different attitude towards the regular program and building codes. Kaiserstrasse goes beyond the regular challenges of architecture and launches new perspectives that overturn existing dogmas for new generations.
