The new theater building serves as a fitting landmark within the established urban fabric of central Kaluga, situated between Marat and Ryleev streets.

The volumetric design is multi-layered: an outer concrete perimeter with open rectangular apertures frames an inner volume executed in warm brick. The rhythm of the external pylons evokes the motifs of an ancient Greek peripteros temple, reinterpreted in a contemporary modernist style. The entrance group is highlighted by a perspective "golden portal," which creates a sense of depth and scale, inviting visitors into the wondrous world of the stage. In both form and meaning, the portal acts as a figurative megaphone through which genuine, youthful art projects out into the city, and from which a "green sleeve" extends: passing through the Youth Theater park and the Berezuysky Ravine, it connects the central part of the city with the Oka River embankment.

The building's footprint measures 83 x 51 m, with a variable height of 2–3 stories above ground and one basement level. The complex features a main 380-seat auditorium with a deep proscenium fly-loft stage, alongside a smaller 90-seat hall.
