Best Implemented Interior Design Project for Public Space
About the project
Most interesting SPA facilities are usually located at upper floors, as this is light that matters for them, but this time, the SPA center had to be designed in the basement, and the authors of the project had to deal with completely dark 200 m2.
The inspiration for them was the unique cave lake – Melissani (Greece). Full of vividly turquoise pure water, it is lit by sun beams penetrating through the break in the rock. To recreate the magnificent glittering effect, the designers used a steel sheet, its surface repeating water ripples. The lighting simulates natural light here, and the wall is the rock. The overall spirit of the place makes you feel as a visitor of a pristine natural water source.
