About the project
Kühler building is a conceptual project for a residential building. the building was given the name Kühler (meaning «radiator» in German), due to its louvre details on the facade which protect the residential units inside from the harsh Sun that shines in Podgorica, Montenegro.
The building was designed in a brutalist manner, with the aim of creating an imposing and menacing stance towards the street and the pedestrians. It was crucial to utilize the visual potential of a building on the corner of a street. freeing and visually lightening the volume of the building has created visual tension and uncertainty.
The building bolsters an inner and intimate green area where the panoramic, glass elevator and steel stairs are also located in a cohesive manner. This whole communal unit is enclosed in a steel exoskeleton that is closed of with glass panes.
