About the project (provided by the applicant)
The customers — a family of four people — wanted to have three isolated bedrooms and a separate room for sports equipment. They use this apartment as a dacha at the seashore, where they come in summer for beach rest and in winter — for mountain skiing. That’s why they required enough recreation options as well as enough storage premises.
As it is a duplex apartment, the designers had to fit in the stairs, but with regard to the above-said, it had to be as compact as possible. In the end, a vintage-style stairs was chosen, which is currently the pinnacle of the interior. Another centerpiece is the daybed Cleopatra van Dick Cordemeijer Auping, made in 1953 (!), which was purchased as early as at the design stage.
