Project
Levashovsky Bread Factory — reconstruction
Category
Best Implemented Restoration / Reconstruction Project
About the project
This bread factory built in 1933 is the unique Constructivist memorial and a landmark for the city. In 2018 through 2022, it was reconstructed to become a new cultural and business center.
Almost all the bearing structures had to be replaced, all the blocks but one needed a new roof, but wherever possible the old finishing was preserved (including the floor tiles of the stairs). The most state-of-the art engineering utilities were used to equip the building.
The surrounding grounds were beautified to offer the citizens a boulevard promenade and a green square garden.
