Starting with 2015, the Krasnoyarsk Territory has been upgrading its libraries. They’ve already completed 50 libraries, and this is just a start. A single brand was designed for all the libraries in the region, including the ones for adults, children, and young people. To tell different categories of libraries apart, they used red, green, and orange colors in their design.
The image that inspired the project is an opened book, which is a symbol of accessibility of knowledge and book depositories. Open and light spaces, absence of partitions or light-permeable structures, free access to all the books available, comfortable furniture, interactive digital technologies, and quotes from books used in interior design — all of these contribute to the image of a transparent cultural environment.
