Project
Light design for Civilians of the USSR Who Died during the Great Patriotic War Memorial

Category
Best Implemented Architectural Lighting Project in Russia

About the project (provided by the applicant)
The memorial was officially opened on January 27, 2024, on the 80th anniversary of lifting the Siege. Over 80 thousand of civilians died in extermination camps in this place during the German invasion.
The pinnacle of the memorial is a female figure — the woman hugs two kids and is a symbol of families that were harmed by Fascists. The central stela is surrounded with amber lamps, which look like real candles. At the bottom of the memorial, you can recognize silhouettes of people doomed to death. There are small niches over their palms, and visitors can put lit candles there. Eternal fire is burnt at the basement of the stela.
