About the project (provided by the applicant)
The primary goal of the project was to create an interactive monument near a new school, designed to captivate the interest of children and teenagers. This was achieved by incorporating a lifting mechanism into the 4.5-meter-tall statue, allowing even a five-year-old child to raise the figure of Isaac Newton half a meter into the air. The monument aims to demonstrate the younger generation that physics is not just a school subject, but a captivating science.
Since its unveiling, children have been particularly drawn to the monument, eagerly raising the scientist’s figure skyward. This is a rare and special example of a monument that invites interaction, encouraging people to touch and engage with it.
The materials used include polymer marble, granite, and stainless steel.
