The project for a contemporary six-story apartment building completes the architectural and spatial composition of a residential area along the banks of the Yuntolovka River in Saint Petersburg. The U-shaped building configuration creates a protected internal public space oriented toward the water. The primary form-generating concept is a reverse-stepped terraced massing: the volume expands toward the middle and tapers upward, metaphorically mirroring the motion of a river wave. Dynamic balconies wrapping around the facade enhance this plasticity and frame picturesque panoramas of the Yuntolovka.

The imagery of 'ripples on the water' finds its completion in unique triangular window profiles that establish an expressive, easily recognizable rhythm across the entire facade. White plasterwork supports a light, 'airy' aesthetic, allowing the building to visually harmonize with rather than dominate the natural landscape. Beyond their plastic expressiveness, the reverse-stepped terraces serve an important private function by providing upper-floor apartments with their own private outdoor spaces overlooking the water.
