Commissioned by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation in collaboration with the Moscow Department of Cultural Heritage, this restoration project pursued a dual objective: to save the decaying historic structure from deterioration by reinforcing its load-bearing framework, and to faithfully restore the mosque's original late-19th-century architectural appearance using archival drawings and historical photographs.
Carried out by specialists from the Central Research and Restoration Project Workshops (CNRPM) alongside other specialized organizations, the restoration project encompassed the following works:
- Micro-grouting and crack injection using specialized binding compounds, alongside structural reinforcement of the foundation masonry.
- Reconstruction of the central spire above the main prayer hall based on archival photographs.
- Interior restoration recreating the original design, including the installation of two minbars and the full exposure of the mihrab niche, restoring the original acoustic properties of the primary prayer hall.
- Complete replacement of hidden building utilities, including power supply, HVAC, and heating systems.
