About the project (provided by the applicant)
The museum and educational complex is situated on Kondratievsky Avenue in St. Petersburg, with its primary focus on the history of the copper industry, as the site once housed Russia's first copper rolling mill.
This multifaceted complex combines cultural, educational, entertainment, and office functions. It consists of two buildings: one housing the museum, and the other serving as art studios and office spaces. This way, the project promotes education, culture and business in the neighborhood.
The architectural design of the museum reinterprets industrial architecture, featuring a striking metal framework and extensive use of glass. The industrial character is further emphasized through open-plan interiors and large-span structures, offering flexible possibilities for the use of the space.
