About the project (provided by the applicant)
Blind walls with no windows are a reference to ascetic monastery buildings. Niches, narrow corridors, and prominent shapes are used at the entrances and refer to the portals in white-stone temples dating back to the 12th century.
The external composition is asymmetric and mute. On the contrary, the indoor rooms feature regular shapes and symmetry in columns and elements. Natural light gets inside through skylights and flat roof windows. Exhibitions can be arranged along the perimeter of the building and in its rooms.
The purpose of the museum is display of icons, paintings, and other cultural artifacts.
