Museum Chambers in the Holy Dormition Pskov-Pechory Monastery
Nomination
Best Implemented Project of Temporary or Permanent Museum Exposition
About the project
A small basement room under the Monastery’s vestiary used to be a closet, but was rearranged to exhibit original pieces from the 16th century, some of them owned by Ivan the Terrible. The project included some readjustment of the room, but the main objective was to create the necessary spirit. The design concept features a luxurious treasure chest, nodding to interior adornment of old royal premises. Ornamental frescos on the walls were handmade in accordance with the technology developed by the authors.
