About the project The North Cabana is located on secluded grounds on the island paradise of Anguilla. It is a house designed to enjoy an excellent vacation in the Caribbean. Its simple shape alludes to a prominent minimalism with the purity of the white color; Other materials such as exposed concrete and natural rocks are also used to further contrast the purity of the volume that seems to float thanks to the basement that is in turn where the two rooms are, each with its bathroom.
In the interiors, we work with a color palette where various shades of beige prevail, the brown color that is appreciated in the paintings and the dining room furniture stands out in very subtle points, thus ensuring that the space is not visually boring.
The furniture in general, due to its curved and sensual shapes, manage to create a contrast with the cubic shape of the house.
Applicant and author of the project Julio Lau Borrayo: "I studied architecture at the CUJAE University, Havana, Cuba. The architecture firm Studio BAS was born in 2014 and since then we have generally specialized in residential projects. Since 2021 I move the studio to Florida, United States."
