Northern Wind is a project transforming 5.6 hectares of reclaimed land on Vasilievsky Island into a self-sufficient urban quarter. Six thematic clusters — active, natural, sports, family, cultural, and recreational — form a circular boulevard-park, symbolizing continuous movement. Along the route, there are 10 diverse squares: event, gastronomic, sports, family, quiet, and others, highlighted with art objects. The social core includes a school, kindergarten, and cultural center with a neighborhood center, coworking space, and theater studio. The first row of facades and large trees provide wind protection, creating a favorable microclimate near the bay. The architecture is inspired by Scandinavian functionalism: multi-level volumes — from townhouses and urban villas to towers, rhythmic windows and loggias, warm tones of brick, plaster, and wood. The project transforms a monotonous, windy, and infrastructure-deficient reclaimed area into a resilient, vibrant urban organism.
