Project
R&D Oncology Center

Nomination
Best Architectural Project by a Student

About the project
Unfavorable oncological situation in the Orenburg region urges construction of new health care facilities.
The goal of the project is to create a new research center comprising the existing hospital. The new building consists of three differently purposed parts: a hospital unit, a ward unit, and a research unit with a conference hall. All these parts are interconnected by a glazed atrium. At the second floor level, the double-height atrium also unites the hospital and research units, creating a space for informal communication.
