About the project
An important thing in projects made for small towns is discovery and development of local identity, as it can efficiently promote evolution of both the town and its economy.
The project for the town of Krasnoarmeysk was inspired by unique wooden footbridge. As the river divides the town in two halves, it has really much footbridges. They are literally everywhere, although dating back to different times. Along with the natural landscape, German architecture, industrial facilities and interconfessionality, these small objects are typical for this town.
Today, at the design site above the river there is a unique natural territory – local flora and fauna that have always been there. Following a wooden footbridge concept, the authors establish a system of pedestrian crossings that don’t interfere with the natural landscape.
