Where is the line between stylisation for antiquity and dissonance with the context? The Kaliningrad region is a fusion of eras, cultures, and architectural languages. How do you create something contemporary yet contextual? This question inspired the "Palmniken" project in the village of Yantarny, once known by this Prussian name. At its foundation lies a lost infrastructure: bakeries, breweries, apothecary gardens, Junkerhof courtyards, a brickworks, and even its own newspaper. All functions are gathered in six blocks. Each immerses visitors in the past without copying it — through reinterpretation. The complex breathes the spirit of a craft quarter and fits seamlessly into the existing fabric. The exterior and interior spaces are inextricably linked, forming a unified whole. Every detail — from texture to light — recalls what once was, while remaining in dialogue with the present day.
