About the project
The project was inspired by the drama film “Youth”, directed by Paolo Sorrentino. It’s a story about friendship of two elderly men enjoying their life in a picturesque place located at the foot of the Alps. The film makes one think about where and how older people might live calmly and happily.
One of the main objectives of the project is to create a landscape which will facilitate various outdoor therapies, such as aromatherapy, color therapy, garden therapy, etc. Each of the courtyards within the complex has its own feature.
The outdoor area is divided into 6 main zones: an entrance zone, a sports zone, a garden zone, a coastal zone, a chess zone, and a recreational zone. The two-story nursing home building has different functional areas. The whole design of the complex is reminiscent of typical village houses.
