About the Project
The Church of St. Peter the Apostle in Lakhta was built in 1894 to commemorate the Christian deed of Peter the Great, who helped to save drowning sailors in 1724. In 2019, large-scale restoration work in the church was completed, thus giving the site new life.

The cathedral was closed to the public in 2017 due to extensive restoration it needed. Restoration work was performed by a contractor – Design and Construction Bureau ZhilStroy.
