About the project
The monument to Peter the Great was installed to commemorate the 350th Anniversary of the Emperor’s birthday, as well as the 300th Anniversary of his visit to Saratov.
The sculpture made of bronze is placed on a pedestal made of solid granite stone and surrounded by three steps made of the same material.
The layout of the square is designed to make the monument, which faces the Volga, be the local dominant. The playground behind the statue has natural wood equipment to remind the shipbuilding traditions in times of Peter the Great.
