The site with 650 square meters area is located in Peykola in north of Iran with moderate temperature and humid climatic conditions. As part of the design program the existing foundation and previously built columns on the site were considered as the main structural components. An economical approach to design and build a villa with a 350 square meters area led our design team to be focused on economy of space and material therefore simplicity and application of local material were the basic rules to start with. By extracting mass from a simple cubic volume, we aimed to:
- maximize the view on the surrounding landscape,
- provide maximum exposure of the villa to sunlight,
- create a less bulky building mass in order to allow air flow to carry the moisture out of the interior space.
The spatial organization of the project consists of different spaces with diverse degrees of enclosure. The openings on building skin allow cross-ventilation on two directions within interior of the building.
