The water control structure in the pond of Nizhny Tagil was built in 1725 and is a remarkable example of engineering art of those times. After it was put into operation, it was reconstructed many times, which adversely affected its functions and looks. Today, neither the dam nor its embankment are used much in the city’s life. The proposal includes a list of works to unlock the potential of this territory, namely water cleaning in compliance with the regulations established for recreation zones and equipment of access ways leading to the water.
Walkways and promenades will connect history of this place with up-to-date architectural practice.
