About the project (provided by the applicant)
Located on the second floor of the House of Culture in the settlement of Prokhorovka, the library represents a new format of public space where history engages in dialogue with modernity. The concept of a “cultural hub-platform” plays on the view of the nearby railway station, transforming the elongated volume into a multifunctional environment. The centerpiece is a pop-up museum room that zones the space without solid walls, symbolically creating a portal between past, present, and future.
The project preserves the memory of the place while focusing on relevant uses — work, study, and daily interaction. By adapting the existing interior, the team created a flexible environment with diverse functionality, where every visitor can connect with the area’s history through the lens of contemporary design.
