Project

Promoting intercultural dialogue: educational centre in the city of Rishtan

Category

Best Design of Public Space by Student

About the project (provided by the applicant)

Small towns, such as the Uzbek town of Rishtan, are bearers of traditions. To ensure these towns remain comfortable and livable, it's crucial to adapt their historical structures to modern needs while providing necessary facilities.

Together with the existing Uzbek-Japanese school and pottery workshops, the new centre will form a cohesive complex, promoting intercultural dialogue and preparing children to continue their education abroad.

The design transforms the image of an oasis into an architectural concept, creating a space that mimics a natural, integral and sustainable system.

The project develops the notion of the Garden archetype, reflecting different cultures' visions of Paradise. The stylistic design of the building refers to the phenomenon of seismic modernism.
