About the project This metro station is a dedication to those who made sure that Leningrad survived during the Siege. The basic concept features a fusion of the Soviet and the contemporary styles. Thick columns are a symbol of power and endurance, which were so remarkable in the Soviet people. The ceiling is made of triangular elements. Poems and inscriptions on the walls are interlaced with portraits of soldiers, sailors, workers, and women.
The station name and metal inserts of the columns are bronze color that resembles the orange stripes of the St. George Ribbon.
